Berlington Equestrian Center, is one of the most prestigious Equestrian Schools in the country. Located north of a small town called Berlington, in the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado. The instructors here teach Olympic level students, and strive to make their students the best they can at their ability. But of course, if it's a very prestigious center, it must be expensive, right? Your right. Only the richest families can afford it. A lesson alone costs around fifty dollars. But not all of Berlington is just horses. It also is full of drama, like other stables. There are the mean, snobby people, who think they know everything, and then there are the nice, kind people, who do their best to stay out of their way. Are you ready?

Spring has arrived at Berlington!! Meaning snow is starting to melt, and flowers waiting for the first glance of sun. Usually cloudy, occasionally the sun peaks in through an opening. Other times, its drizzling, or really stormy. Mares are now in heat.. so watch your stallions. Also, the Mountain Trip has began, and our first show should be starting soon as well.

 CHAMPION EXTRAVEGANZA: YOU ARE INVITED
« Thread Started on May 11, 2008, 1:41pm »

And you are one of the six to be invited to the most prestigious event: The Champion Extraveganza.
I know, how random is this message that you are probably already tempted to delete, because (hello!) I'm a guest with a random name (that I will admit is quite stupid) but don't. Read (Noo, not skim) the message please.

For the entirety of my SIM/RPG career (going on six years now) I have raised a pretty elite set of horses. Hall of Famers. Inter-Sim Champions. All the rage. But then of course most of us in my society got bored and so I opened my own SIM game that optimized human and horse roleplay. That wasn't enough though and I knew that my boredom was not in my stock itself, but in the lack of fresh people; new persons to roleplay with to bring my muse back to life.

That's when the entire Inter-Sim (Major) competitions age BOOMED. The Pegasus Stakes, Dawn Treader Cup, International Olympics, Horseand Rider Cup, Sim Stable Cup sprung to life, but not many of those were actually carried out. In my own boredom (and confidence in my own abilities)-I in turn made my own competitions that I tried to make as complicated as ever, just to make sure I had the best of the best to compete against the members of my Home Site.

I failed for course multiple times; the Sim World Cup lacked interest. The International Olympics had way too many entrie and not enough judges to handle it. That's when the Champion Extraveganza arose in 2005 and was a success. Yes, TE won (barely I might add-but we disregard that factor) but we know that we yearn yet again for that kind of experience, the competition and mingling with others we most likely do not know.

Interested? Amazing, I shall continue. The Champion Extraveganza is a hard-core competition. It has our favorite four events: stadium jumping, cross country, halter, and of course dressage (my personal favorite, but this isn't really about me). We invite a team of 12 (not necessarily 12 members, but 12 horse and rider teams). We ask for a captain and a co-captian (usually the admin and the co-admin) but things are always subject to change.

Being that we try and keep the competition as realistic as possible, we suggest five back-up horses in case there is an injury or whatnot (None of these are career ending mind you, so don't worry you're pretty little heads over it).

At our last running, we invited three sites and we decided, what the heck-let's double it. The major eventing events and then halter. Broad enough that we are sure that every invited site has 12 (although if you don't that would be fine, putting at a slight disadvantage) horse and rider teams to compete against us.

How do the competitions work? Is there a biased judge? Oh no. The competitions work essentially through roleplay. Throughout the competition, our judge(or judges) will be looking for effort, bond between horse and rider, and past successes (essentially a show record). For each competition (halter or whatever) we are looking for at least a 200 word warm-up or workout practicing for the event to simply show an insight into the horse's personality.

As you can see, there isn't much of a requirement besides what I have stated above and being present (which means one post--but I'd prefer two or three minimum) at the Opening Ball and the Closing Ceremonies.

So yeah, let's get out there and mingle. So hosted at Tropical Equine (a three year SIM/RPG just coming out of hiatus) we have the worldly acclaimed Champion Extraveganza. Are you man enough?
