It was late...later than most people would consider humane to be awake. Maybe he was slightly more nocturnal than most people, maybe he just didn't generally sleep that much, or maybe he just needed to be out that night. Whatever the reason, he was here now, and there was really no going back now.
The heavy barn door slid open and his lone figure filled the doorway then vanished as he closed the door behind him. The lights flickered on after a moment or two, and a few groggy horses lifted their heads to stare at the intruder. One horse though, was wide awake, and seemed to be waiting for him. The moment the lights came one her piercing whinny broke the silence as she rushed towards her stall door and reared up as she reached it. She looked terrible. Like she'd been pacing and getting herself all worked up all night long. Truth be told, she had been.
"Settle your self down there young lady." He said stepping up to the horse's stall. She backed away from him, eyes rolling wildly and ears pinned back fiercely. Undeterred, he opened the stall door and stepped in, closing it slowly behind him. The moment the latch caught, the mare leapt towards him as if to attack him, her white teeth flashing dangerously. He didn't move, and she stopped inches from him, sides heaving, breath coming in harsh gulps.
"There's my crazy girl." He said softly, extending his hand towards her. At first the mare resisted his touch, but as his finger tips brushed against her soft pelt, she calmed. Her ears pricked forwards slowly, her eyes became less wide, her breathing slowed. The insanity had passed. "You've really done a number on yourself tonight Honor." He said, running his hand down her neck.
After a few minutes he returned to the stall door and silently slipped out. He latched it carefully behind him and started down the aisle once more. The lights were extinguished and he disappeared from the stable halls. From there he headed for the lounge, intending to meet Kendra. He wasn't sure if she was there yet or not, but he knew that if she wasn't, she would come eventually.
He opened the door and stepped inside, flicking on the lights as he did so. She wasn't inside, so he figured he should just wait for her. He stepped over to one of the supporting pillars and leaned up against it, losing himself temporarily in his thoughts as he awaited her arrival.

She walked, more like ran to the lounge. He promised he would wait for her there. She was freezing. She had basically lost feeling in her feet and fingers. She placed her sandals on her feet and ran toward the lounge. She figured everyone else would be partying. She wasn't the mood. She wasn't the one to go out and party that much anyways. Not unless it was with a certain someone. She smiled. She pulled open the door and closed it. She walked past the stalls and saw Honor. She stopped for a moment and looked into the stall. She had sweat marks all over her body. She was over working herself, again. She sighed. "You poor girl," she whispered. She continue walking.
She stopped. She looked into a stall. A stall that contained another beast. Davy Jones. He stood there with his chest heaving, and his eyes concentrated on her, and only her. "Hello boy[/]b," she whispered. He snorted, angrily it seemed. She shook her head. All she wanted to was him to trust her. She would never hurt him. He had been through enough. She understood. She shook her head and pulled herself toward the lounge. She entered in, and kicked off her shoes. She looked around and saw a shadow on the couch. She smiled. "Hey,"she muttered. Was that the best she could come up with?
Honestly, that's pathetic. She walked a little closer, and sat down. She sat next to him, and smiled. She really had nothing to say. She hoped that he had said everything he felt he needed to say. She had nothing to say, except the fact that she had fallen in love with a guy, that seemed in tangible, yet so far away. She smiled, gently. What could she say?

Tyler looked up at the sound of feet nearing the door of the room. No doubt it was Kendra. Who else would be at the stables at this time of night? Everyone else was more than likely at the spring dance...party...whatever you want to call it, just enjoying themselves. He, on the other hand had too much to think about to even consider partying...not that he ever did anyway, but still.
It was somewhat relieving to have finally told someone everything. He had someone he could talk to now...even if she was younger than him, that didn't really matter anymore. She was his only confidant, she was the only person who knew everything about him. There were a few others who knew almost everything, but Kendra was the only one who knew, and probably the only one who would ever know, the last part of his story...the part that had lead him here to Pine Wood.
As Kendra came in and took a seat next to him, he was brought back out of his thoughts and to the present. It was hard for him to admit it, or even really understand it, but he really had fallen for her. For the most part he had always remained neutral when it came to feeling anything for anyone, but she...she just made it completely impossible for him to continue in that way.
He wasn't entirely sure what to say either...he'd said just about everything he had felt needed to be said, and there wasn't much else that he could come up with to talk about. "I was afraid you weren't going to show up." He said sarcastically. He'd only been there for a few minutes, and he had known that she would come.

A big grin just grew on her face. "You should know me better by know," she said. She looked at her hand which was near his leg. She blushed slightly, but pulled her head up to look at him anyways. She bit her lip. She had nothing to say, nothing to do. She wasn't sure why she was here. Well, she was here to be with Tyler. It was a good enough reason in her mind at least. She wanted to get closer, but was it safe to get closer? She wanted to. Then again, she didn't want to push anything on him. He had admitted to her things about his past, that she didn't think was possible. She smiled, slightly. She thought to much.

"You're probably right." He said with a smile towards her. In the short time he'd known Kendra, he'd probably smiled more than he had in the past five years combined. He had a reason to now. Before the only times he'd ever smiled had been either to make people think he wasn't as cold and distant as he had been or when he was with Honor. But now, now he had Kendra, and she was turning his world upside down.
As he looked at Kendra, he sighed internally. He wanted to have a relationship with Kendra beyond just friends, but he still just couldn't get himself around that invisible barrier. If only he could know what it was, then it would be so much easier to get around. He knew, from earlier on the beach, that she too wanted something more, but once again, he was preventing that from happening. Maybe something needed to happen that would convince him to such an extent that he really did want a relationship, that nothing would stop him.

She blinked a couple of times. He was emitting that barrier again. She could feel it there, but it wasn't as strong as it was earlier today, on the beach. She sighed. She had an idea on how to break the barrier, but it might seem way to forward for him. Then again, she wasn't much of the girl to make the first move, anyways. She looked back at him. She wasn't sure if she should execute her idea, or let the barrier remain there. She sighed. What did it matter? Well, if she seemed to forward, then the relationship they had been building up would break and fall apart. She didn't want that to happen. She wouldn't let herself let that happen. She sighed. She was really tempted to give it a try. No. She would wait. Sometimes involve letting it grow.

(Go for it ) Tyler looked away from Kendra for a moment, unable to fight the terrible feeling that he was letting both of them down. He knew it was him that was preventing their relationship from growing, and he hated that, but there wasn't really anything he could do about it. He hated being a disappointment, but that feeling of helplessness to do anything was even stronger than the hatred for being that way. He wanted to say something, but words were failing him. He's said so much already that night that it seemed that the entire English language had completely deserted him and left him standing there like an idiot. Some days he hated the fact that he'd only been speaking English for about three years. When nothing was happening he could speak it just fine, but when situations arose...the only things that came into his mind were Spanish, and he couldn't get them to translate in his head.

He had a hard time understanding what to do next. She could sense this. The jujitsu was at work, again. She blinked. She had an idea, but what if he responded wrong? What if he took it the wrong way? The barrier between them was still strong. What if this could heal and melt away the barrier? She was pretty positive it would work. She would give it a try. She took a good breath, and gently reached out her hand toward his chin.
His face felt slightly rough at her touch. She blinked and smiled. She pulled him gently toward her until she felt his lips touch hers. There was a warm feeling building at the bottom of her gut. It felt really weird for her. She had never done it before, but she felt that it would help. After a couple of seconds, she gently pulled away, waiting for a responce from him. She hoped that it would melt away the barrier, and everything would be fine between them. Words were useless now, so she decided to take action.

Tyler felt her soft skin against his, and didn't resist. Even just that gentle touch sent a tingling sensation down his spine. He lifted his eyes back up from the floor where they had rested in the moments preceding this one. He hardly noticed that they were drawing nearer as they did so, but when her lips pressed gently against his, it was like he entered a whole new world. A world in which he hadn't been abused, a world where he hadn't been sent to prison for five years, a world where his sister and mother had never been killed, a world where he hadn't murdered someone, a world in which only he and Kendra existed, a world in which everything was undeniably perfect.
It seemed like an eternity had passed in those few seconds, but in those few seconds he found himself kissing her back. True love's kiss is said to be the most powerful thing in the world...could it be powerful enough even to turn back time? It seemed so for Tyler. All of those things that he'd done...they all seemed to disappear into thin air, leaving no trace of them behind, and with them, went whatever was stopping him from loving her.
When she pulled away from him slowly, he made eye contact with her for a moment, and without even really knowing what he did, he lifted his hands up to her face and drew her back to him. In that moment, everything was perfect, and there was nothing that could ruin that...nothing.

She felt a chilling sensation flowing through her back. Her face froze up as his hand touched her face. There was this buzzing feeling within her body. It felt so different then anything she felt before. She felt herself being pulled closer, and once again their lips met again. It felt wonderful. It opened up a new feeling she had never felt before. Love. Passion. It was great. She had never felt that way before for a guy. She gently reached her arms around his neck. She felt her eyes closing, and just enjoying the moment. It felt so different.

Tyler's hands moved below her arms and down to her back as he encompassed her in his arms, her small body fitting perfectly between them. He was undeniably in love. For the first time in nearly ten years he actually felt something for someone. Since he'd been either locked up or in depression for most of his life during which having a relationship with someone was actually plausible, Kendra was really the first person he had ever loved...really loved...in this way. ---------------------------------------------------------------- It seemed like ages had passed since they had first come there, though it really hadn't been much more than an hour. It was nearing 4 am, and a few horses could be heard whinnying in the distance. It wouldn't be long now before the stable hands would begin showing up. As much as he didn't want to, he pulled slowly away from her and put his hands on her arms. A smile highlighted his features as he made eye contact with her. For the first time, he didn't feel like there was anything standing between them, and because of that he saw her in a totally different light.

Something burned within her. It felt so weird. She had never felt this way before. It was different. She liked the feeling, as if she couldn't get enough. She blinked a couple of times. She felt her eyes closing slowly. She was tired. Abosolutely tired. She had been up all night talking with Tyler, but it was great. It wasn't like she had to go to school the next day. It was Friday night...no Saturday morning. It still felt like the night they met or the dance they shared.
She would never forget those moments in time. They seemed timeless like it just happened yesterday. Oh...it did. She smiled to herself. She looked up at him. She blinked again, and then yawned. She stretched out her arms, and then laid down. She hoped he wouldn't randomly tickle her because she was extremely ticklish. A little poke in the side and she would start giggling like crazy. Only non-punk thing about her was the fact that she was extremely ticklish.

An amazing thing, this love that binds people together. Here was Kendra, who was pretty much entirely "punk," and a practicer of jujitsu, and there was Tyler who was more stately and almost gentleman like and never showed emotion to anyone...except Kendra herself...and they were completely in love with each other. Opposites attract, they say, and it must be so, otherwise none of this would have ever happened.
The voice of a stable hand greeting the horses in the stable floated weakly through the walls of the lounge, alerting Tyler to his presence. "Your parents are probably wondering where you are." He said after a moment, noticing how tired she looked. He had spent so many nights awake with Honor that he was used to not getting any sleep. She, on the other hand, didn't seem quite so nocturnal. Which also reminded him, Jigsaw was probably wondering what on earth had happened to him. He hadn't been home in the past 12 hours, and the dog was probably driving himself insane at the moment. "We should probably get back."
