Mikeala breathed heavily at the word 'jump'. Jumping had been the only thing Mikeala had done since she started riding, until she got to the event barn. And since Mikeala was now an eventer 2 phases of the even consisted of jumping. Before her old horse coliced, Mikeala was ready to do Preliminary Eventing, but when Mikeala was given Revi, because of the mare's temperment, she had to start working on Novice. Now Mikeala loved Revi, and though she wants to jump higher, wouldn't think about selling her horse for a horse doing her ability eventing. And besides, who'd want to give away a 3rd level dressage horse?
Mikeala slowed Revalation down to a trot, as she noticed other riders doing the same. As usual, when the two were in a group, Revi's trot turned fast and choppy. Mikeala kept contact with the bit, then sat the trot. After a couple strides she posted again, then after another couple of strides, she sat back down. These transistions kept Mikeala, and Revalation thinking, and the mare slowed down and collected her trot. Mikeala took advantage of this and kept contact with the bit, and all a while squeezed and realsed with he second finger from the pinky, so she was sort of masaging the 6 year olds mouth with the bit. Revalation imedietly dropped her neck, and arched it, and chewed on the bit. The trakener now took light steps, then quickened her trot and extended out her front legs, with her hind legs following behind quietly, into the mares famous extended trot.

Mrs. Richardson kept her eyes on Mikeala. She was doing very well. As they trotted past her, she then decided it was time for them to do some jumping. "Okay.. Now I'm going to ask each and every one of you to seperatley do these couple of jumps," she said, looking at their little course.

Tyler smiled and nodded, then slowed Cimarron so that he lined up with the rest of the riders who were listening to Mrs. Richardson. After slowing from a canter to a trot, Cimmi smoothly halted beside Danni and Tuff. Cimarron was a mix between an American Paint Horse and a Thoroughbred. This made him very intelligent and well built, with beautiful lines and a good capacity of athletic abilities. Although the geilding wasn't a purebred, he was still entered into shows and wasn't to be looked down upon, just like no other horse was to be looked down on. He whinnied excitedly and urged Tyler to give him rein and let him gallop around. Tyler held the reins straight and above the horse's withers, applying slight pressure to the bit. Without that pressure, a horse would wander off because it wasn't being stopped. Cimmi reached over and playfully nudged Tuff and Tyler grinned at Danni.
Cimarron was a finely built horse that stood tall at seventeen hands. He had the gorgeous splashed looking coat of a paint horse, but had the build of a thoroughbred. His eyes were intelligent and alert, glistening a deep brown. He wasn't bulky at all, but he had muscles and the finely sculpted head of a thoroughbred. His long and slender legs were also that of a racers, but his powerful hindquarters gave him the gift of jumping high and far and also running very fast. Tyler guessed the horse was more thoroughbred than anything because he had a wild and free spirit and lived with the desire to run to his heart's content.
When it was Tyler's turn to go over the few jumps with Cimmi, the geilding pricked his auds and his orbs gleamed as he eagerly looked at the jumps, his muscles bunching and unbunching in excitement. Thrusting his head forward, his long brown and white mane draped over his neck and he tossed his head, sending his forelock out of his eyes. Cimmi pawed the ground with his left front hoof and Tyler grinned then collected his horse's attention and watched as Cimmi got into position and put his ears back to listen to Ty, then arched his neck. Tyler squeezed his legs and Cimarron took off at an easy canter that was a good speed for these lower jumps.
Approaching the first oxer, Tyler squeezed his legs a stride and a half away and Cimmi lifted his forelegs, pushed off with his hindquarters, and propelled over the jump with extreme ease. After all, Tyler and Cimmi had been together for all 5 years of the horse's life and had worked on jumping ever since he was a yearling. Cimmi lowered his neck and Tyler kept his balance in the center saddle, but leaned a little bit to fit comfortable in the leather tack and smiled as Cimarron hopped over the next jump without a fault. The horse continued on in strides and lengthened his gait a little for the last jump that was a bit higher. Cimmi concentrated and Tyler prepared himself then at the exact right moment put tension on Cimmi's sides with his legs and Cimarron snorted and sailed over the jump like an eagle, then landed and half reared excitedly, before proudly proclaiming that he did well and prancing back to the group. Tyler grinned and praised his horse "Good boy! How did we do Mrs. Richardson?" he smiled, turning the the instructor that was like part of his family.

••Kayla slowed Hollywood down, she listened to the instructions. Sounded ok, she waited for her to let Hollywood and her go. Squeezing her chestnut Arabian into motion, and feeling the four beat of a trot, then of the three beat motion of the canter. Hollywood's pilers thudded the ground, showing muscles that no other horse had. Kayla centered Hollywood towards the center of the first jump and leaned forwards and squeezed. She felt Hollywood take off, and cleared the first jump.
••The second jump came up just as quickly as the first had. Hollywood snorted in delight as Kayla leaned into three point and again she took off soaring over, she landed. Kayla counted the strides and quickly passed over the third and final jump. As Hollywood landed, Kayla slowed down to a posting trot, then to a trot, then to a walk to fall behind Tyler. Kayla only looked at Mrs. Richardson for approval, she was not yet confterable to talk to people here.
••Patting her horse, Kayla settled into the saddle. What people did not know was that she had bad trust problems. That was the worst, and when she did not know people, she did not feel as if she could talk to them like a friend. More of your there and I really don't care.

Mikeala watched as both Tyler and Kayla flawlessly flew over the jumps, with their horses. Mikeala knew that her jumping wouldn't be so perfect. Even while just standing their, Revi danced eagerly, waiting their turn to have a go at the the jumps. "Slow and steady girl." Mikeala whispered into her horses ear, as Kayla finished her last jump.
Mikeala took off at a trot, departing from where she stood, then picked up a canter on a circle. She left the circle and headed straight for the first jump. Rev immedietly saw it, and pulled against the reins, trying to break Mikeala's hold and gallop towards the fence at full blast. Mikeala kept her hold and fought with the mare, until the last stride before the jump, where she realeased and let her mare have room to take the small jump. Rev cleared it, and Mikeala quickly took back her contact, before Rev could take advantage of the loose reins. Revi flicked her tail in annoyence, wanting to jump the jumps her way. Mikeala wasn't going to have any of it so she repeated her actions to the first jump, with the second jump. The third jump came much to quickly, and Mikeala didn't have the time to collect Rev before the jump, so the pair sloppiply got over it. It took Rev an instant to recover, and Mikeala a little bit longer. Rev took charge, and bucked, sliding Mikeala up closer to her neck than Mikeala wanted to be. The mare then took off at a barreling gallop towards the last jump, Mikeala hardly being able to fix herself to be able to 2 point and realse over the jump. Mikeala quickly took control, one Rev finished jumping, and Mikeala plopped herself behind Kayla, breathing heavily.

After a while, it was Danielle's turn. She smiled, and nodded to her mother, saying that she will jump now. She patted Tuff's neck, and then trotted out of their line. Then she urged her stallion into a canter. Then, Danielle turned Tuff towards the first fence. As they approached the fence, Danielle leaned forward, and they cleared it, along with all the other jumps. She smiled, and then re-joined the line, patting Tuff's neck for his job well done.
Mrs. Richardson nodded, watching each and every one of her students. Once they finished, she smiled, nodding. "Well done everyone! I hope you had fun," she said, with a little laugh. "But what I have noticed is that some of you tend to slightly lose contact with your horse before jumping. It's not all of you, maybe none of you here, but some of my students do that," she explained. "Okay, now we are going to jump all the jumps in a line, meaning every horse behind another about 8 feet,"

••Kayla kind of squeaked quietly to herself. She was behind Mikeala, and Hollywood was not really the type to stay at a slow pace to jump. She tended to stay at a fast canter, and a collected one was tough, espessally for the frisky Arabian. She sighed, as she waited for the others to go before she went. It was going to be tough with Hollywood, but she patted her horse and whispered the plan and her horse snorted as if in agreement.

Mrs. Richardson nodded, and watched her students, before checking the time. Their time was up, and they did very well. "Okay.. Good job everyone!! But unfortunately, our time is up, and it's time to give our horses a break," she said, with a slight laugh. "Great job," she praised, once again.
