Wish Upon A Star {Tyler}

Danielle led her big Thoroughbred gelding to the paddocks. It was 10:30 at night, but Danielle was in no mood to go home, since technically, she already was. She let Tuff free, and then lay down in the grass, in the middle of the paddock. She looked up at the sky. Probably one of the most beautiful nights that Spring. She sighed, as she continued to think, with Tuff a couple feet away, grazing..

Tyler stroked Chester's nose and slipped a carrot out of his pocket then fed it to the gorgeous geilding. He laughed when Bella nudged him expectantly and he gave her one too then made sure all of the stable horses were secured into their stalls for the night and he checked all of their overnight blankets before dimming the stable lights for the night. As he passed the foaling paddock he checked the latch and smiled approvingly then pulled on his coat. He was about to walk to his house when he saw Danni laying on the ground and he grinned then leaned against the fence and watched her and Tuff.

Danielle continued to look up at the stars, then grew bored. She sat up, and then heard someone walking. She turned to see Tyler. She smiled. "Hey Tyler," she called out. She suddenly had this outburst of confidence. She wondered if Tyler was going come into the paddocks. Tuff perked his ears toward the stablehand. He knew him well, and trotted over. He nudged him gently.

Tyler grinned at his best friend and waved "Hey Danni!" he had known Danni for as long as he could remember. They were really close. He grinned when he saw Tuff prick his auds and trot over to him at a steady gait. Tyler laughed when he was nudged and he reached out and stroked Tuff's velvety muzzle. He ran a hand over his gleaming, masculine neck and scratched his withers. He climbed onto the lower wooden bar of the fence "Hey Tuff" he smiled and his eyes danced. He laughed and winked at Danni then planted a foot on the middle bar and held onto the top rail, then swung his left leg over and carefully avoided contact with Tuff and he manuevered himself over the fence and lowered himself to the ground. He then walked over and sat beside Danni on the cold, hard ground. He crossed his legs and grinned at her "What's up?"

Danielle smiled at him, then turned away, blushing slightly. She has had a huge crush on him, ever since the first day she met him. He was so sweet, and kind. She then realized that he was sitting beside her. She shrugged. "Nothing.. tired little bit," she said, looking at the stars. "How about you?"

Tyler grinned at Danni. He liked her so much and had a huge crush on her, but he also knew that her sister Lizzy was in love with him. He wondered how Danni felt about her sister liking him and he prayed that she liked him as well. Danni was really pretty and she his best friend. But maybe one day they would be more. "Nothing much either, I just secured the horses for the night and gave them their feed. Oh! I almost forgot! Cimarron came in today!"

Danielle smiled at him. He was such a responsible stablehand. No wonder her parents loved him. "You know my parents love you like their own son," she said, with a laugh. It was true. They trusted Tyler. "Really? That's great!" she smiled, happily. She wanted to go see Cimmaron, but will probably go see him tomorrow. Or maybe she will go see him before she goes to bed.

Tyler blushed and laughed, then ran a hand through his gorgeous black hair. "Yeah" he laughed "I have a lesson with your mom at 12:30 tomorrow. Will you be there?" he smiled hopefully. Knowing Lizzy, she would probably show up anyways. Tyler loved Danni and her family like his own too. "Yeah! And you know what, I was wondering, if you were up for it, if you wanted to go on a moonlit trail ride?" he smiled.

Dannielle nodded. Yup she was going to be in the lesson, and she was looking forward to it. "Yeah I'll probably be there," she smiled. She wanted to say she loved him, but held back. He probably didn't like her the way she felt about him, so might as well just not say anything. She sighed, and then her face brightened up. "I would love to,"

Tyler grinned at her and nodded, giving her a hug. "Great! I hope Cimmi doesn't act up in his first lesson since being back" he grinned. His five year old geilding was well known to be stubborn and he was often tempted to try to play around with the other horses in the ring. "If he spooks I'll end up in the hospital" he grinned. Cimarron was still young, so he tended to spook at loud noises, and anything else that crossed his path. The last time he had shied at a paper bag in the wind, Tyler had been thrown off and had gotten a broken arm and stitches. He really liked Danni alot, she was special to him. He just wished he knew if she liked him the way he liked her. He doubted it...why would the stable owner's daughter want to go out with a stablehand? But then again, Lizzie did. "Awesome! When do you want to go? Cimmi is in the stables right now," he lit up smiling.

Danielle smiled at him, and looked at the ground, blushing slightly. It was such a beautiful night. Very rare for that time of year. Usually dark, scary, puffy clouds glided in the sky, rain pouring down from them, sometimes even big blocks of ice. She didn't want to waste the beautiful night at all. "We can go now, if you like. Tonight is amazing," she said, looking up at the stars. She was about to burst, telling him how she felt. But she kept quiet, playing with the grass.

Tyler wanted to tell her how he felt so bad but he was also scared that he would crush Lizzie's heart. "Yeah....it is. Let's go" he grinned and reached out a hand to help her up. He heard Cimmi impatiently whinny inside of the barn and heard him kick the back of the stall's wooden walls. "I hope he doesn't harm the stall or himself" Tyler said worriedly. He smiled up at the sky again.

Danielle laughed, and then took his hand, standing up. She didn't feel like tacking up Tuff, so she was going to ride him bareback. "I'm going to ride him bareback," she said, patting Tuff's neck when he walked over to them. She smiled at her stallion. He was so sweet, and he knew how much Danni loved Tyler. Good thing he didn't tell him.. She laughed. She started walking out of the pasture, with Tuff close behind. She stopped, and smiled at Tyler, waiting. She then laughed at what he said. He was so funny.

Tyler smiled and nodded "Yeah, I guess I'll take the chance of riding Cimarron bareback too. I mean, I can get him under control when he acts up, but sometimes he does it without any warning and just bolts or something. I always have to be prepared to fall off" he laughed. He grinned when she laughed and he walked into the stables and flickered on the lights to be safe. Grabbing Cimmi's bridle, he strode down to Cimmi's stall and laughed when he saw the geilding staring at him, auds pricked, tail swishing, neck arched. It was like he knew he was coming and he was ready to go. Tyler had groomed him before he had put on his blanket along with the other horses, so he stepped into the stall and onto the bedding, removed his blanket, and put on his bridle, then took his reins and led him down the aisle, closed the stall door and turned off the lights, then walked over to Danni and Tuff. Cimmi whickered in greeting to his friends and nuzzled Danni.

Danielle smiled at him, and stroked her stallion's neck, as they waited for Tyler and Cimmi. She smiled again, as she saw them coming back. She laughed, when Cimmi nuzzled her. "Aww.. hey there big guy," she said, stroking his nose. She looked at Tyler, and smiled. She couldn't do anything else, since she didn't really want to tell him, but at the same time, really did. "Ready?' she asked, and then hopped onto to Tuff's back.
