*The name is Shane O'Conner
*Blew out 22 candles
*Is a gorgeous male
Personality
Shane is generally quite easy going, although he is quick to anger. When he's having a bad day, he doesn't stop himself from taking his anger out on other people. He can be a bit blunt with his words, not seeming to either notice or care if he says something that may upset someone else. In certain situations he isn't very good at comforting anyone and always ends up saying the wrong thing, even if he doesn't mean to.
Although he may come across it at times, Shane is not at all shy. He can have his days where he is quiet and prefers to be left alone; his often causes people to mistake him for being shy and anti-social. Upon first meeting him Shane is usually fairly easy to get along with, although he may be really nice to someone one day and then the next be a complete jerk. He isn't very trustworthy, not in the sense that he will go around spilling everyone's secrets, it is more to the fact that you cannot depend on him for anything. He is very independent and will do whatever it takes for personal gain even if it has a negative impact on someone else.
Appearance
Shane is about five foot seven, weighing at around 150 pounds. He has a slim, though muscular build although often hidden under the layers of clothing he usually wears. He is usually a bit tanned as he spends quite a lot of time outside in the sun. His hair is usually kept a bit long, reaching just past his chin. It is a darker brown color with natural waves, though Shane does not pay a lot of special attention to his appearance, causing his hair to take an oily and messy look at times. His eyes, a feature that everyone seems to notice about him at first, are a bright blue color.
Shane's style of clothing is quite casual. He doesn't care about wearing brand name clothing; he buys and wears whatever is comfortable and cheap. He is more commonly seen wearing simple jeans and a jacket.
Riding History
Shane had become involved in horses around the age of eleven. His older sister, Caroline, had grown to love horses and leased a horse at a nearby stable. As he was younger, he had been forced to tag along with Caroline and their parents as they went around the province going to horse shows and Pony Club events. He hadn't actually been riding at the age of eleven, although Caroline often allowed him to ride the horse she worked with. He would help out with some barn chores, mucking out stalls, grooming and helping his sister out. When he was fourteen he finally started riding horses, earing some free lessons at the barn. He found that he actually enjoyed it and wanted to further his riding experience.
When Shane turned sixteen, he began working at another farm closer to their new home after they worked. It was a Standardbred Farm, dedicating most of it's time to buy standardbreds off the track and retrain them before finding them a new home. After doing some barn chores around the farm he began working there when he was eighteen, learning how to work with the standardbreds.

Overall History
Shane was born in a town just outside of Calgary, Alberta Canada. He has an older sister, Caroline, who is older by four years. She was the first one to get involved with horses when Shane was eleven. He spent most of his weekends trailing her around at the barn, doing some barn chores and helping her out while watching her learn to ride and eventually move up to acting as the groom when she went to horse shows. When he was fourteen he began taking some lessons and learned how to ride. He wasn't as involved with it as Caroline had; he learned the basics how to ride but hadn't started competing.
Two years later, his parents decided to move. They stayed in the province, as his father had gotten a better job opportunity. Caroline continued riding, finally buying her own horse and riding at a more expensive equestrian center in the area. Shane didn't work there at first; his interest turned to a standardbred training center quite close to where they moved. He got another job there, first doing barn chores and learning how to work with the standardbreds, often helping with some of them. He had finally gotten his own horse when he was eighteen; he had gone with the owners of the standardbred farm to a standardbred auction. Most of the standardbreds there were still quite young, a couple of them lame, others not fast enough for the track and most others just retired. A young bay standardbred mare caught his eye, going for only $650. He bought her, hardly having anyone else to bid against.
Simply buying the mare, Broadway Hanover, at the auctions seemed to be the easy part. The mare was quite jumpy and nervous, and it took over four hours just to get her in the trailer. Shane took her back to the Standardbred Farm where he would work with retraining her. It took a lot of patience to gain the mare's trust and see some improvement. When Shane turned twenty, he decided to move the mare to the stable Caroline was riding at. Everyone had been annoyed to the fact an 'ugly, jugheaded' standardbred was coming to their fancy stable that was full of warmbloods. At first everyone had laughed at Shane attempting to settle the mare in and continue her training, though over the next year Shane had successfully trained the mare to jump. There had been a lot of improvement since he had bought her in the auctions, and only now is he considering on taking her in some shows.

Sweat was forming on Kaeden's forehead as he paced around his dorm anxiously. His dorm was a complete mess; the bed was unmade, clothes were flung carelessly around the room, empty water or pop bottles were laying carelessly about with numerous amounts of garbage in various places, the garbage can ignored. Surprisingly, his dorm doesn't smell bad. Probably because he had only arrived that weekend and the mess of his room has only been like this for a day or so. Kaeden couldn't help it; he had to get rid of his anger somehow. Even though this was only his fourth or fifth day here, he already felt trapped. He hated it here, even though he has hardly been here. He has hated this place ever since his parents first told him about it. Still, it was his last option. He was only going to be here for a year or so. Even so, Kaeden felt like a complete outsider here. It seemed like the majority of kids sent here were addicted to drugs or alcohol or had eating disorders or something like that. And him? Well, getting caught stealing had been bad, especially when his parents found the gun in his room. They didn't know about the many other times it had happened before.
Kaeden paused by the window as he looked outside before opening it, allowing the cool breeze to enter his dorm. He gazed outside, spotting some kids outside standing around and talking or heading for the courtyard. As if a light bulb went off in his head, Kaeden straightened up again and closed his window. He grabbed his jacket off of the end of his bed, spotting his Helio Ocean that had been hidden underneath it. He also grabbed it as he put his jacket on and headed for the door. He only paused to lock his dorm before heading off down the hallway, walking quickly to avoid having to talk to any of the other guys going into or out of their dorm. He headed down the stairs and out the door; luckily the guards didn't bother to question him as they were searching another kid for drugs.
Knowing the guards weren't paying much attention on him, Kaeden headed for the trees. It was exactly what he needed, a bit of fresh air. The guards had been bugging him a lot lately, though perhaps he just had to get used to it. They had been warned that Kaeden would likely try to hide a gun or two in the dorm so frequent dorm checks were expected. Kaeden didn't know why they bothered; it wasn't like he was planning on using any of his weapons. Before he knew it, he had entered the forest. He knew it was off bound by students here, though he didn't really care. In the few days he's been here, he's heard a lot about some crazy parties that has taken place here, although Kaeden wasn't the type to go to any of them. The forest seemed almost empty; he could hear some faint voices although he couldn't see where it was coming from. He continued on his way, occasionally glancing at his Helio to see the time. Within a few minutes he paused as he looked around, not wanting to get lost. Something else caught his attention though; it looked like someone was sitting underneath a tree nearby. Shoving his hands in his jacket pocket as the harsh winter cold was starting to get to him, Kaeden looked towards the figure, slightly curious on who it was.
