Of course, it would have probably helped if the horse like him an ounce. But no, Cigar only liked himself, and that was the way it was going to be. After spending three long years with the stallion, Jasper was pretty sure he wasn't changing for anyone. Espeically not Jasper, who had the indecentcy to actually ride the horse. Currently, Cigar was biting at the bit and shaking his head in the impatient way that told Jasper he wanted his head. Jasper had learned not to give the horse his head, after a few tramatic experiences for both rider and horse. Patting Cigar uneasily on his long and elated neck, Jasper sighed as the horse squirmed underneath his tight hold on the reins. Really, he should have stayed on the Shetland Pony he so cherished. Sadly, the pony was now giving Five Dollar Birthday rides to toddlers. Jasper really didn't get free-enterprise, after all, he'd never worked a day in his live, and he wouldn't have to with the life insurance his dad had. Squeezing the horse into a slow trot, Cigar finally decided that was all the rein he was getting and settled down enough for Jasper to guide him a bit down the trail. The horse was becoming unnerved more easily these days, thanks to the fact that it was raining more and more often. Though Cigar had grown up in a place where it rained everyday it seemed, he still didn't like the calm before the storm. Sometimes Jasper tried to calm him, but he'd gotten enough bloodly lips, black eyes, and broken bones to sustain him a lifetime. For all he cared, the horse could break down a door, kill a groom, then run off into the night. He'd get another horse anyways.
It wasn't completely Cigar's fault he was ill-tempered. Jasper had heard that the young horse's mother had abadoned him at an early age and if a groom hadn't stumbled upon the new born in the middle of the night, the young colt may have not pulled through. But that wasn't enough mental-scarring for the horse to be this mean. Maybe he was just born mean. Jasper didn't know, and he probably wasn't ever going to know. He accepted that and just tried to get the stubborn horse to behave before a show. That meant that he usually would behave during the show, which meant they'd win. Rubbing the horse's sweating neck, Jasper pulled it into a walk, in which the horse gladly swept up into, pulling his knees high in Arabian Dressage fashion. Jasper frowned at Cigar. He was always pulling stuff like this. He'd usually do the practice perfectly before the show, and then completely veer off course in pursuit of a rabbit or a bush or a tree of some kind and cause the whole thing to fall of it's train of thought. Really, Jasper pondered if the horse had a brain in it's small cranuim at all. It seemed like it just wanted to tamper with the grooms and eat from the hand it bit.

Alayna had lived here all of her life. Sacramento was her home and even though she had wished so many times that she would be gone from this place, she knew she could never truly leave. Her home was here. Alayna despised her mother more than anything, the only good thing her mother had done for her was by her a stable full of horses. Then of course her father had to come and burn down the whole barn. Cora Marten had never bought her anything else again, though gave her all the money she ever wanted. At least one of the horses was saved. A beautiful bay mare who was one of Alaynas most prized pupils. Alayna loved this mare and bred her not long after the barn fire. Even though she was a very well bred and well trained mare the fire tore the poor girl apart. The only thing Alayna could do was breed her. That was how she got Pops. Today was Alaynas day off. She didnt have any horses to excercise so she was going to spend the entire day with her horse. Pops deserved a good day out as well. Walking into the barn Alayna was immediately greeted by the young ebony black colt. His neigh could be heard all over the ranch, he had a very distinct low sounding neigh. Luckily this time he had left his halter on so tacking up the already squeky clean stud was no problemo. The trails seemed like a good bet to do today and it wasnt long before Alayna and Pops were underway. Alayna made Pops tuck in his tiara and collect himself, a good way to warm him up before they started loping or galloping. At first Pops rejected tossing his tiara and sawing in the reins until finally he submitted performing a standstill trot before with a slight touch his trot began to move working every muscle before Alayna released him. Come on boy, lets go. Leaning slightly forward Pops obliged to the loosened rein the thoroughbred in his blood flowing through him. Charging forward to a full gallop Alayna leaned back a little taking some of the rein back. she didnt want pops hurting himself too bad. Then she saw what had caught his attention. A fallen tree not that far ahead of them. Alayna laughed that good happy go lucky laugh before she gave Pops the rein again only just making him check himself before the jump, but there was no need he was behaving beautifully. He soared over the tree with inches to spare and still had enough energy to keep on going. As much as Alayna loved going full speed on her favorite horse Alayna wanted to slow it down and spend more time with him. Asking him to walk was a hard thing for the young stud never liked to. That was when Alayna noticed someone was ahead. It was Jasper. Alayna whistled letting him know that she was there and let a smile appear on her face. She was always happy to see him. Jasper I swear sometimes I think you are stalking me.ooc: done

Jasper swore, that one day, he'd end up in Small Town, Utah and have to live in a small shack near the railroad. But no, for right now, he was living in the prime spotlight of Berlington, thanks to the fact that his father had paid the school a rather large sum of money to let the horse and boy in. Thanks to the fact that the show horse still hadn't won enough awards to even go to a small school somewhere in eastern Canada. The beast beneath him, formally called Cigar, but Jasper prefered Idoit or Animal to his formal title, as even Jasper had a hard time commanding the Arabian, showed Jasper's liable personality, which was a loose and crazy thing, often molding around something or someone, intill his mind exploded into small pieces and then he restrated, in a vicious cycle that happened to have an effect on Jasper's and Cigar's mental stage.
His white Under Armor glistened with sweat as he tightened his hold on the reins, as Cigar tried to get his head and break away, and run. One day, Jasper had decided he was just going to let the Arabian run. And run. And run intill his spirit broke and they were somewhere in the middle of Montana. Then he'd have to find a train. Trains were hard to find. Espeically in Montana, or so he heard. Biting his lip as the horse decided he'd had enough of Jasper and 'spooked', backing up, tossing his head, and snorting intill Jasper let him settle down by running him in small circles. That was when Jasper finally noticed someone was there, watching him. He heard a sentence and he smiled, recognizing the voice. Oh yes Alayna, I just live to watch you every minute of the day.

Alaynas eyes sparkled as she saw Jaspers sexy body covered in sweat. Most girls thought that was disgusting but not Alayna. At times she could be a complete lady dressed in elegant dresses, or a complete tomboy wearing jeans with open knees and a cowboy shirt. It just depended on what her mood was in. Alaynas personality didnt resemble a lady at all though, for she had always been a rather strong willed person. There was only one who could sway her and always had been able to, and he was sitting right in front of her on the horse from hell. Alayna had always loved Jasper, well as a friend anyway, but then their relationship grew. She didnt know if he felt the same way about her but as soon as they hit puperty Alayna began to fall for Jasper. Harder and harder with each meeting. But for the first time in her life, Alayna was too scared to tell him. What if she lost her best friend. Alayna could see that Jasper was having problems with Cigar as usual. She watched as he faught with the arabian. That horse was a perfect example why she hated arabians so badly. Oh yes Alayna, I just live to watch you every minute of the day. Alayna laughed as she patted her young colt. For some reason Pops was standing perfectly still, normally he acted his worst when around Cigar, but right now he was perfectly still. It was like Pops was showing Cigar how a real horse should act. I hate to tell you, but Im irresistable. Looks like you caught my bug. Alayna always had fun teasing Jasper. It was how their flirting went, teasing eachother all the time. Alaynas deep brown orbs looking into his bright blue ones for a moment before Alayna had to shake her emotions out of her head. Sensing her discomfort Pops stomped his hoof and shook his head rather irritably, but the rest of his body did not move at all. Why dont we have a little race. Itll calm down Cigar and give Pops a good workout. Ok that was a slight lie. Pops was a Thoroughbred, and a very well bred one at that, while Cigar was a crazy arabian. Pops would cream Cigar, but at least it would calm the arabian down. Lets see how fast the crazy one can go. Alayna gave Jasper a teasing smile before she gently placed pressure on Pops flanks, which sent the stallion sailing. Pops was a very tall young stallion and he still had a good ways to grow. Alayna was sure that he would at least reach 18 hands by the time he turned 6. Though Pops was all legs, they were way to long and his gait was chopping. Alayna leaned back a little on the reins asking Pops to check his gate and within seconds Pops was stretching his legs out like he was a professionally trained racehorse. ooc: done what i was thinking was they came by like a pond or something and decide to go for a swim ?

occ;; sureeeeeeeee eee e. -mutters to jasper about seductive winking-
Really Jasper was more an English Draft Horse person, being raised around the huge and gentle beasts. But no, he had to be stupid and pick the stubbornest horse in probably all of the United States, besides maybe a few rowdy green horses. Cigar settle down? That was going to happen when Mars blew up and was claimed by Harpo Enterprises. Which wouldn't be long from now. Maybe Cigar had some hope. He frowned at the horse, as Jasper was a confused fellow and needed to frown, and his horse was perfect for frowning at. Really, you couldn't frown at a thoroughbred that just stood there and let a fly attack it's ear. But with a headstrong and rather idoitic Arabian, you could just plaster that frown on your face! Jasper was frowning partly because of the way Alayna made him feel. This was a touchy subject with any young boy, partly because feelings made them feel uncomfortable. It was like an inner ray of sunlight sliced through his body, frying any other feelings in their race to over-take Jasper's brain, when Alayna appeared. Though he'd never admit it before she idd, Jasper liked her, unlike he use to when they were young, but once she'd really matured. She really was beautiful. He frowned deeper, tugging on the reins of a sorry excuse for a horse.
Cigar yet again snorted at Jasper, which often happened thanks to the fact that the horse thought he was the ruler of the world. The Arabian backed up from Alayna and the kindly thoroughbred that was Pops. He had a rather twitty look in his eyes, which caused Jasper to wrench the reins into his palms, causing the skin to slightly rub against the rough black leather, which would lather lead to chapping. Though Cigar snorted in defeat and stood rather still, giving Pops a glare. Brat. Jasper's thought echoed through his brain's train of thought, causing him to slightly smile. The horse was learning who was boss! This was when Cigar whipped back, attempting to bite Jasper. The smile fell. The smile soon returned, with a slight vegenance at her comment. Mmm, yep Alayna Marten, that was the word I was looking for. Irresistable. Yep, even to the point of dreaming about you. Jasper said, nodding, pale blonde hair falling into his light blue pools, which were where he saw everything. He always seemed to smile around Alayna more. He wasn't sure if he disliked it anymore. It use to annoy him, how she was the only one that could make a grin flicker upon his face. But now, he kind of enjoyed it. It was like a spell she held over him. NO. BAD JASPER! STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS!
Jasper crossed his arms, giving her a suspicious look. If you want to smear my horse's mental disablity in my face, you're going to have to try a little harder. he said, slightly starting as Cigar made an advance. He was apparently taking the challenge seriously. Jasper knew his odds. And he was thanking his lucky stars he didn't have Alayna as competition. The Arabian was going to lose worse then if he went after a rabbit in the middle of a competition. And this one was going to be totally unrigged, inless you counted that Pops was a pure-bred Thoroughbred, meant to race, and the fact that Cigar was made to jump and go for long distances at medium speed. Ugh. Totally unfair. I'm sure you're talking about Po-- Hey! No fair! But Cigar was already in motion, his sharp Arabian blood-lines forcing him after the horse. After all, some of the greatest race horses came from the harsh Arabian deserts. But Cigar was no racehorse, and fell behind the fleeting Thoroughbred. If Cigar was pushing hard, Jasper could only see fleeting moments of Alayna's hair and Pops' mane.

Alayna could feel every muscle in Pops body working. She was holding him back and could help but smile in pride as Cigar began to loose ground. Pops would have amde a great racer but he had no heart for it. Pops soon slowed down only because he just didnt want to race anymore. Which was completely odd because normally thats all the young stud wanted to do. Alayna sometimes was very annoyed by her best friend. She could hear Cigar and Jasper having trouble behind them but everything seemed to just float away. When Alayna was galloping on Pops everything seemed to just float away, even when she was holding him back to give Cigar a bit of a chance. Wasnt really working though. When she was riding Pops it made her really think about things. Especially Jasper. She had grown to have a lot of feelings for him and maybe today was the day for those feelings to become known. It was only when the trail began to curve sharply that made Alayna stand in the stirrups and slam on the breaks. Pops jerked his head up and neighed angrily the only way to make him stop was to half rear before they hit a tree. That was a close one boy. Alayna gave Pops a soft pat before she asked him to trot off turning to see Cigar still struggling behind them. She gave an amused smile but before her eyes she saw a very beautiful sight. Right off the trail was a pond. A rather large pond and Alayna couldnt believe her eyes. Every single time she had come down this trail she had never noticed the pond. Alayna turned in the saddle and let a whistle rip to let Jasper know that he needs to put a move on it. Pops tossed his tiara and neighed happily as Alayna dismounted, though all she did was tie him up and loosen the girth. This was just going to be a perfect day she could tell. Alayna hadnt brought her bathing suit, well look like she was going to have to swim in her underwear. She had no problem with it. Taking off her skin tight shirt Alayna revealed some nice abs for a female. And a tanned skin that seemed to glow in the sunlight. She was wearing a black sports bra and as she took off her pants revealed black boy shorts. Giving Pops a loving pay Alayna jumped into the water with a yell. It was rather cold but it was just perfect. ooc: done it sux...lol

Cigar was snapping at the reins, trying despretely to get his head from Jasper and beat Pops, who to Cigar, looked like he was taunting him. The horse was extremely competetive, though he had no heart for humans. The Arabian outwardly frustrated Jasper. Jasper had a theory he did it on purpose. Yep. That was it. The horse held a grudge over the adolescent. That was it! Jasper had finally made a breakthrough. That was about the time Cigar ripped the reins from his steady hands and finally got his head. The horse charged after Pops, but with no avail. Cigar shook his head, eventually slowing enough so Jasper could finally regain control, which half sent him flying off the saddle. Cigar nickered at Jasper, who eventually got the horse into a slow trot. Cigar ruefully shook his head and pulled at the reins once again. It's not my fault you can't behave. Jasper said, shrugging. The horse nipped at him.
Cigar heard the whistle first. His dark bay ears perked, the horse let a whinny escape and tugged on the reins. Whoaaa. Jasper muttered, though Cigar had other ideas. The high-strung Arabian entered a slow canter, dragging Jasper towards the slight curve in the trail. Jasper frowned at it, as his head was a bit to big to turn or to even think about turning. He saw something glittering in the corner of his eye and smiled as his brian made the connection. It was a pond, and it was like it had just appeared; though Jasper usually didn't go down this trail. Really, he didn't usually go down trails, inless he was on Berling. He didn't want to seriously hurt himself, which was usually what happened when riding Cigar. Seriously, the horse should have had it's own warning sign, tagged to the horse's stall, which had an uncanny amount of notches and scrapes, thanks to Cigar's little fits. WARNING; HORSE ON CRACK. WILL BITE.
Jasper decided it would be best to dismount before approaching the pond. He hadn't tried Cigar's reactions to water, but if the stallion continued like this, he wasn't going to be the Arabian Retriever. Smirking at Alayna's current status, testrone flooded the adolescent's body. Reluctantly shooting down fanasties and shooing away thoughts, Jasper was able to concentrate on tying Cigar to the tree, which Cigar wasn't exactly liking. He snorted at it, warning the tree to keep it's distance. That's right Cigar, show that tree whose boss. Jasper said, patting the horse on the shoulder. The Stallion's head turned to nip at him, and Jasper batted him on the nose. It wasn't the most mature thing to do, but it kept him from reveting into thoughts. He frowned at the pond, deciding he'd just get soaking wet in his jeans. He refused to strip any further, seeing as confident problems plagued the young kid. Tearing off his shirt and stuffing it into a saddle-bag, Jasper shook his blonde hair, wading in instead of jumping, the kill-joy. He shook his head at Alayna, his arms crossed across his muscular abs. And to think, I thought I was going to enjoy a mature afternoon.
occ;; ahhh, mine is very long and repetive and unenteraining. . >_>

Alayna let her head come up out of the water when she heard Pops excited neigh. Smiling when she saw Cigar and Jasper Alayna waded to the side of the pond. Jasper was striping but still only his shirt. What Jasper you scared I might take advantage of you? Alayna was having all sorts of fun teasing him. That was what they enjoyed together. they could tease eachother all day long and never take offense because they knew that neither of them meant what they said. Alayna pushed herself out of the water and when she stood up she was face to face with Jasper a wicked miscevious smile on her face. And to think, I thought I was going to enjoy a mature afternoon. Alayna couldnt help but laugh. When have you ever had a mature afternoon with me. Im too crazy to let you. Alayna was wrapping her fingers in Jaspers belt loops as she spoke. With a evil glint in her eye Alayna laughed as she leaned back pulling Jasper into the pond with her. Releasing his jeans Alayna pulled out of the water dressed in only her underwear looking at Jasper trying to get all the hair out of her face. Cmon Jasper you need to lighten up a bit. Alayna pushed a large sum of water at JAsper with a laugh. Looking back at Pops she checked at the stud before finally deciding that he was perfectly ok. Alayna tended to be a little overprotective of him. Pops was the last of her families horses and Alayna wanted to make sure nothing happened to him. She had told Jasper about that horrible fire, and he knew that Alayna greatly cared for her colt. Alayna leaned back and let herself just float on the cooling water. More like butt cold but still it felt good to Alaynas overheated body. When she righted herself back up again Alayna looked at Jasper with a thoughtful look. Which was never good of course. Jasper do you ever think about us...on dating terms? There it was she had let it out. Alayna couldnt believe that she had actually said that to him, but Alayna did tend to say things before she really thought them through. But that was just it..she had thought this through. Alayna suddenly regreted saying that. Pops could sense her discomfort and sent her a reassuring nicker, but Alayna didnt notice. HEr eyes were on Jasper and she suddenly realized..that it could break up the friendship that they had shared for so long. The question was if they would be together through thick and thin. Tears welled up in Alaynas eyes. Im sorry. I shoudnt have said anything. With that Alayna moved back towards the bank Lifting herself up and putting her pants back on. But that was as far as she got before she was just sitting there lost in thought again. Oh how much she wished Jasper was hers. And yet she was almost certain he didnt feel the same. He had never hinted to it before. ooc: done he needs to kiss her.lol
