The wind brushed through her hair like fingers as it wisped around her face. It wasn't a cold morning, but it wasn't hot either. It was right, just perfect. She loved it when it was that temperature between hot and cold, with a steady wind that kept it nice to ride in. But not too much to make it more difficult to ride because you had to pry against the wind like a crowbar against a padlock. It was just right, a wonderful Saturday and today she was planning on riding her prize stallion. Well, when he wasn't being a pain in the you-know, he was her prize boy. He tended to act up against the wind though, so perhaps today he would be having fun. She just never knew with that almost black beast.
The door opened easily as she slid open the lock and opened the door wide to reveal the barn aisle. Boots clicked against the concrete as she walked the aisles filled with the whinnies of horses and pawing against the wood doors. Whistling she saw her boy stick his head out and nickered towards her. Smiling she walked towards him, offering a carrot as he took it gently. Hopefully today he would be all right, she could only hope though. Hand brushed over his soft muzzle before she turned towards the feed room. She would feed him after she rode. Unless they already feed him, well he would get some treats and stuff later.
Her beast, also called 'D', was pawing and flipping out because he wasn't being fed. But it happened this way almost everyday, she figured he would be used to it by now. But no, he wasn't. Shaking her head she grabbed a handful of sweet feed and walked over to him, his lips grazing against her hand as he accepted the treat eagerly. She smiled and rubbing his head in between his eyes before she turned to the side and grabbed his halter. Not bothering with the stud chain at the moment, he would be fine without it. She hoped. Clicking back the lock and sliding it until it opened she walked in and slipped the halter over his head, before walking him out. Only really having to glare at him before he behaved.
Bringing him to the crossties she clipped him in and patted his shoulder. "Hello boy." She said before walking into the tack room and grabbing the grooming box, bringing it back to the ties and putting it on the rail. She curried over him quickly yet well and then ran the hard brush over him before the soft brush over him. Himself getting a few treats in the process. She grabbed the hoof pick and ran her hand down his leg clucking to ask him to pick it up. He did, but put up a little fight, but she held tight and he gave up. After she finished up grooming she sprayed him down with some fly spray and brushed out his tail with her fingers and some show sheen.
Going again to where her tack was she grabbed a pair of red polos and white polos, along with her dressage saddle and his dressage double bit bridle. All black leather. She placed all the stuff on the rail and placed a red dressage pad on his back. She turned to get the saddle, only to turn back and see the saddle pad gone, and him flinging it around in his mouth. "Hey! That is not a toy." But she couldn't help but laugh as she grabbed it from him and put it on his back again, slipping the saddle on over it. Grabbing the girth she did that up and ran a hand over his shoulder before putting on his polos. Red on his front right and left hind. White on his left front and right hind. Alternating, and fun. She grabbed the bridle and took of his halter, placing it around his neck before placing on his bridle and fastening the buckles, slipping the reins over his neck. Putting on gloves, and slipping on her helmet.
Clucking to him she grabbed her dressage whip, with her silver spurs on and walked out towards the outdoor arena. Lowering her stirrups and checking her girth before hopping on. Patting his neck as she walked him on a loose rein out to the outdoor arena. "Ready to have fun today boy?" She said patting his neck. He flicked his head and swished his tail jumping up slightly and acting up. She pulled back on the reins a bit in half-halts trying to calm him down. He finally did after half way around the ring. She pushed in into a collected walk around the rail for a while, adding circles and leg yields and some turns on the forehand to get him listening. That would be something good for him to do. He could see the jumps around them, and he was getting a bit excited, but she refused to let him jump, maybe she would pop over one at the end, but dressage work first. She kept him walking, making him listen. But not without him acting up.

Breathing in the fresh morning mountain air, Carrie stepped out of her retarded pick up truck. The only thing that the truck did right was turn left, when asked to turn left. It was unpredictable, and Carrie never knew when the truck will break down. Its like it had a mind of his own. But sooner or later, Carrie will be buying a new car, since she couldn't take the one she had now.
She made her way towards her filly's stall. She was proud, of the progress the dark brown Hanoverian was making. Carrie can now actually tack her up, without being threatened to be kicked, stepped on, or bit. She was also getting the filly to listen to her more, while Carrie rode her. So yes, she was very proud.
She found the barn door open, and she walked inside. A stablehand was now tossing in hay for each horse. Great.. she thought, sarcastically to herself. Now Prancy for sure won't want to leave her stall. But then she noticed, as she kept walking, that her side of the aisle wasn't fed yet. She grabbed the opportunity, and took the halter.
Carrie slipped inside Prancy's stall, and put the halter on her. Prancy accepted it, and soon she was following Carrie out the stall. Usually Prancy wouldn't want to leave, but the only reason why she was leaving now was because she smelt hay. After that, Carrie put her on cross ties, and went to the tack room, grabbing her supplies. She quickly brushed her, and then tacked her up in a western saddle and bridle.
Once they finished that, Carrie started to lead her out into the Outdoor Riding Ring. She was hoping no one was there, but she saw someone. She sighed. Wondering how Prancy was going to act, she opened the gate. "Mind if I join?" she asked, more like shouting.

She kept him in a nice walk around the ring as he fought against it. He could tell that she was planning on just doing dressage today when she kept getting mad at him for trying to jerk towards one. She kept her ouside leg on him when he started side stepping. "D!" She muttered to him as he kicked out. He was being a pain today, and she was starting to get sick of his acting up. Her outside leg relaxed as she brought him into a circle and squeezed for a trot. He snorted but pushed his legs underneath him and quickened his step into a working trot. Her elbows were placed back as she held him with her outside rein and messed with his head with her inside rein. He responded and bent his head down and round, accepting the bit easily. Though his nostrils flared and he snorted.
She was going around in circles and serpentines when she heard a yell come across from the other side of the areana. Turning her head she saw a girl, and what seemed to be a nice looking filly coming up. She smiled over to them, D was still trotting nicely under her, and she was posting as she answered back. "No, go right ahead." She turned her attention back to her own stallion though. And he knew there was a filly in the arena. He was being more stiff and acting up more. She just kept his attention with more circles and movements, changes of direction and transitions. After a few moments she had him going in a nice collected trot, then brought it down to a piaffe. He was such a good boy, though he kept snorted and grunting. He was not happy, and there had been a few kicks and bucks. He was most definentaly a jumper. Her bun was now a ponytail from the working.

Smiling, Carrie nodded. She lead Prancy into the ring, where she tightened up the girth. The filly snorted, and turned her head towards Carrie, nipping out at her. "Hey!" she called out, hitting the filly's nose. "Stop it," she said, sternly, and then continued to tighten the girth, happy that Prancy stopped nipping her. Rolling her eyes, Carrie placed her left leg into the stirrup, and swung her right leg over the filly's back.
Once she was up on Prancy, the filly broke out into a fast canter, eager to catch up to the other horse. Carrie was surprised, but she stayed on, and then finally got control. Slowing her down to a walk, Carrie grew aggravated, but of course. She knew the responsibility of having a not very well trained horse, and she accepted it, sometimes regretting it. Looking over at the other horse and rider, Carrie noticed how the other horse was acting up slightly. Great.. Prancy probably got him all excited. "Sorry about that," she said to the other girl, when they passed. This was going to be an intresting ride..

She smiled for a moment as D responded nicely to her asking of a passage. He moved nicely out of the piaffe, minus a little trip, which she really didn't know how he managed it, but he did. Other then that the transition was nice in her book and he pushed right into the passade. She could feel his legs gathering underneath him as he lifted his legs high and pushed forward, but almost as if it was in slow motion. But it wasn't, it was neat looking and a fun thing to ride. After a circle she brought him back to a normal working trot and he snorted shaking his head as she asked for circles and a serpentine. She let her eyes wander to the girl and the filly as she sat deep and asked for a halt, before letting him walk on a long rein for a break. He was doing good, she was glad.
She watched the girl get on the filly, who liked like she really couldn't be that old, but she was a cute thing, and the girl must know how to ride. She had been wondering about how well she was trained when she was answered when the filly took off. She watched as the pair came flying towards her. She picked D up in a collected walk ready to move him out to get out of the way, but she had a hold on her and got her to stop. D noticed the excitiment, and even though he was already having a fun acting up day he decided to prance and be all macho, or rather, stallion. She pulled him back to a walk, which caused a snort and kicking out, but he behaved. His tail slashing from side to side as he pushed the walk even faster, he wanted to go. Hearing her she just smiled and laughed lightly. "Don't worry about it, he's like this all the time. He sees the jumps and is just acting up, typical D." Her voice was calm, she was all right with it, he was always like this. "Nice looking filly by the way." She said glancing over at them.

Carrie was about to reply, when all of a sudden, wind rattled the gate, which sent Prancy galloping. Carrie, surprisingly, held on, with the help of the horn of the western saddle. She felt grateful that the horn was there, cause she would've flown off, from the speed that Prancy bolted at. After regaining control, Carrie reassured the terrified filly. "Shh... It's okay," she stroked her neck, and then slowly walked her past the gate that rattled. She learned that whenever a horse gets scared of something, its always good to walk them by that object, sending the horse a message saying there is nothing to be afraid of.
The filly was calmer, but still a little jumpy, so she kept her at a walk, just so she can settle down a little. Once they caught up to the other girl and horse, Carrie smiled. "Thanks. I love how your horse moves... So gracefully," she laughed. "I'm Carrie,"

Glancing over to the girl she watched as the filly took off at a full blown gallop. Well that was unexpected. D started prancing and snorting, acting all stallion-ish. She gave a half-halt, or rather a few of them, and he started listening again. Though pushed against her aids and tried to run. Her eyes were pretty much on her own horse but for a bit she turned back to see Carrie on the filly, that didn't really look like fun. Her mind traced back to memories when she was breaking Jazz, her other horse. He was actually a really easy horse to break, but getting him to go, was another story. D was the horse that was a pain in the butt to break, she sent him off to be broken, and she taught him the rest of what he knew, that was the scary part. He was such a pain and always getting into trouble. Jazz just flipped during cross country and jumping, D flipped out everytime.
Her eyes glanced over again to the pair as she walked her back by the gate. By this time she had D in a nice collected walk and were reaching to the point of where she was. She walked by her, and they walked alongside each other. D was actually being all right for the moment, that was a relief, she was actually able to hear and comprehend what the girl was saying without having to focus on the horse as much. She smiled and laughed lightly. "Thanks. He moves nice, but he hates flat work, no matter how much fun and praise I put in it, its weird." Her voice trailed off and she patted the bulky stallion on his neck, running her fingers through his mane as they walked. "Your filly sure has some spunk in her." She said, it seemed true from what she has seen. She did have a nice gallop though.

The filly technically was prancing around, beside the other horse. She kept bobbing her head, and Carrie kept scolding her, when she did something wrong. Sometimes, she wished that she was riding Euro, and not Prancy, but then again, riding Prancy was always fun and unpredictable, and those rides are intresting, no matter how aggravating they may get. The other horse seemed to have a smililar personality to Prancy. Getting all excited and stuff, but she may be wrong.
Carrie laughed. "Yeah.. I'm still training this girl here," she patted Prancy's neck, after she stopped her prancing around. "We're getting there," she said, hoping that she will turn out to be an amazing horse like Euro. "Yeah.. she has tons. It gets annoying after a while, but then again, its fun," she chuckled.

The filly pranced besides them, and like normal Discovery was deciding to be his normal pain in the butt self. She kept giving half halts and messing with bending his head one way and the other, to channel his energy into something useful rather then acting up and being a pain. Throwing up his head she shook her own, giving another half halt. He had decided he was going to prance, which was turning more into a passage, which was neat, but still. His tail wrapped around his hindquarters as he pushed forward and puffed up, trying to be his big bad self. Which really he wasn't all that big and bad. It made her laugh, he would be all tough, and then he would wimp out. It was wonderful entertainment, though. It was funny, the two horses acting up side by side. Interesting enough.
Hearing her she let a smile tug up at her lips and as the filly finally stopped prancing, D stopped as well. Kicking out slightly, but then walking all macho after wards, pushing against the bridle and bending nice. "Training, its fun. I trained this boy, its really rewarding to have them this far and being able to say that you did that. Its really cool I think." She turned her attention to D for a moment before she looked back over at Carrie and her filly. She laughed lightly at her last statment, agreeing completely. "Fun it is, I don't know if I would like a horse that didn't have character. Spunk is the fun in riding." The wind brushed her hair back as it went through the arena, ruffling his mane quickly.

She nodded, and then asked for Prancy to trot. The filly responded, but not without doing something against Carrie's will. She threw her head back, and did a mini-rear, before moving into a trot. She started to speed up, and tossed her small head around. Carrie rolled her eyes, and scolded her, smacking her with the crop. When will this filly learn she thought to herself.
Once they came back along side of the girl, Carrie replied. "Well you did a great job!" she smiled. Sure he got excited aswell, but he is much more trained than Prancy. "Yeah.. would get boring after a while. That's why I have a spunky horse, and a calm stallion," she laughed.

She watched as the filly took off in a rear and then danced around in a trot, flipping out and being just a plain pain in the butt. Her mind was automatically going to what she would be doing in reaction to all of the fillys antics. As it would cross her mind she would see Carrie do it. It was funny to see, ironic perhaps. Or just plain the same training techniques. As she smacked her with the whip Discovery jerked forward in a bolt. She grabbed at the reins, holding him back, he bit at the reins and pushed forward, shaking his head vigoursly. He could stand whips, but he didn't really like the sound of them that much, that's why she wore spurs most often.
As they came back up she had gotten Discovery under control enough to be prancing in place and tossing his head. Squeezing with her legs a bit he went forward at a trot, but she gave a half halt and he returned to the walk, but not without throwing his head and being his normal dork self. Hearing Carrie she smiled and laughed lightly. "Thanks. I'm sure she'll end up just as good, if not better." She smiled and listened as she spoke again. Laughing with her before responding. "And that's why I have two stallions." She laughed, both her stallions were funny. D fought during dressage but loved jumping. And Jazz worked calm in dressage then flipped and loved jumping, getting strong.
