Allie and Ideal
It was one of those few nice days of spring. The sun had emerged and the outdoor arena was dry enough for a ride. This would be Ideal's first ride here at Berlington and i hoped he would be good. I had carefully tacked him up in his dressage gear, taking care that his polo wraps were neat and not wrinkled. I had brushed his bushy mane over to one side and his long thick tail was brushed out and shining from the show-sheen that i had put in it to take out the knots. I was wearing a pair was black britches and a sweatshirt. I knew after warming up i would take the sweatshirt off so underneath i wore a navy blue tee-shirt. My hair was pulled up under my helmet and my black tall boots clicked as i walked. I was wearing my spurs and holding my long dressage whip just in case the young stallion decided to be a brat.
When i reached the empty arena, clear of jumps for once, i led the bay around the arena once before tightening the girth and then getting on. The horse stood for a minute before walking away at a brisk long strided walk.

Last night Lucas’s parents had talked to him for at least the whole night about how the new place was. Finally at 3 in the morning he fell asleep but his alarm clock rang an annoying tone until he turned it off. He slowly got to his feet, slipping on a black wife beater and some blue jeans. He grabbed his car keys and drove to the barn. Inside he could already hear Heaven kicking his stall door. Lucas groaned and slowly made his way along the many aisles of horses. When he got to Heaven’s stall he saw the white stallion kicking the gate, wanting attention. Lucas petted him and smiled softly knowing he was going to have a good day. At least that’s what he thought. Grabbing the leather halter off the rack that had the stallion’s name across a golden plate and a lead rope, Lucas led his horse out of the paddock.
The stallion pulled and did almost everything he could without hurting Lucas along the way. Lucas groaned and pulled a little harder the stud chain helping him keep control of Heaven. Lucas finally got his western saddle up on the stallion’s back and slipped the headstall on. He whispered in the stallion’s ear “ Be good today please.” Walking out to the outdoor arena Lucas saw the girl ridding already there but didn’t pay her any mind. Lucas could tell Heaven was already itching to run. Lucas pulled firmly on the reins and climbed up on the stallions back with ease.
He nudged Heaven forward but instead of a nice walk the stallion threw his head around and tried to run. Lucas rolled his eyes and held onto the reins, pulling them back until the horse stopped. Lucas said “ Stop Heaven.” Releasing his tight grip on the horse slightly ready to hang on if Heaven had a little wild side right now and went bucking. Heaven walked forward not trying to run. Lucas nodded and sat up on the horse with a small smile. He loved his horse but sometimes Heaven knew how to get on his nerves. He had this feeling in his gut something with Heaven was going to go wrong today.

A slight Spring breeze sent chills up Danielle's small, petite body. Shivering, she cross her arms, as she started to jog in the direction of her horse's stall. Her sweater was probably there, hanging on Tuff's gate. If it wasn't.. then Tuff probably had a good lunch. Danni laughed at the thought of her stallion, chewing her sweater into holes. Soon enough, there was her sweater, hanging on the stall gate. Grabbing the sweater, she quickly put it on, happy to be warm again. "Hey there Tuff," she said, smiling at her bay Thoroughbred. Tuff noticed his owner was by his stall, so he poked his head over the stall gate, and nudged Danielle for any treats. "Sorry boy.. Don't have any," she laughed, and gave one last pat on the neck. "See you later," and she started to walk in the direction of De Ja Vu's stall.
De Ja Vu, was one of the school horses, and she was asked by her mother to exercise her. Danielle, of coure, never turned down a ride, since it was so much fun, especially since it was Vudu. The Morgan mare was probably one of her favorite horses at the barn, apart from Tuff. The other school horse Danielle absolutely adored was Freddie, the small Dales pony. Quickly, she found Vudu's stall, and smiled, when she saw the mare munching quietly. "Hey girl,"
Vudu, sensing someone was there, picked up her head. Seeing Danielle, she slowly walked over to her, and nudged her, just like Tuff did, thinking she had treats. "I'm sorry girl. I'm all out," she laughed. Looking over at where the halter was hanging, she took it, and slipped into Vudu's stall. Surprisingly, the mare was acting well so far, since she is usually known as the "crazy" school horse, that bucked off students. But that was a rumour. Once you get past the bad side of the frisky mare, she really is sweet.
When Danielle fastened Vudu's halter, she led her out, and then clipped a lead rope onto her. Asking for the mare to walk, they made their way towards the outdoor riding ring. She was too lazy to tack the mare up, so decided to ride her bareback. As they walked, Danielle quickly grabbed her helmet, which was by Tuff's stall. Smiling at her stallion, she put the hat on her head, and fastened it, still walking. Once they made it outside, Danielle was happy she got her sweater, since when the breeze blew by, it gave her the chills.
Noticing other riders, she opened the gate, and walked in with Vudu, then turning back and closing it. It looked like there was no lesson going on, so it was okay for her to ride there. Leading Vudu into the center, Danielle swung her leg, and got onto the mare easily. She learned how to mount bareback, and was pretty useful when a mountain block wasn't around. She asked for the mare to walk, and she responded, with a fast-paced walk.

"Nice day." Mikeala said to herself, as she walked down the long gravel road leading to the stables. She was ancious to get on Revalation today. It would be the first time since the mare had been pregnet that she would be able to ride the Trakener. She would also be happy to work with baby Skylark today, Revi's foal. Today would be a good day to start handling the frisky colt, since he was getting more and more courageous about leaving his mother everyday.
"Morning Revi." Mikeala said to the mare, leaning over her stall. Rev looked up from her grain, then dove back into it, realizing who it was. "Morning Skylark." She said again as a bay colt apeared from behind the other horse. She smiled and gave the foal a blueberry. Grabbing Rev's halter, she entered the stall, and haltered the mare, then tied her in the stall, deciding against using the cross-ties. She gave the mare a quick brush, then placed Rev's saddlepad and saddle on her back. After doing the girth, she grabbed Rev's bridle and bridled her quickly, so the mare couldn't get her head back down to finish eating her grain. "Time to work again Rev." Mikeala said, urging the mare to followed her out of the stall. Rev slowly followed, but kept looking back to make sure Skylark was following behind.
"Ah...people in here." Mikeala said, as the trio got to the outdoor arena. Skylark hugged close to his mom, who nudged him affectionetly. Mikeala gave a slight wave to Danielle, then opened the gate and led Rev in, making sure Skylark got in okay as well. Mikeala led Rev to the mounting block (with Skylark glued to her side) and mounted.

As i walked the young horse around the arena, getting him settled, 3 more riders came in. One was a cute guy riding western, another was the person i supposed to be Danni, the daughter of the barn owners, who was riding a Morgan mare, and the last was someone i didn't know who was riding a mare with a foal in tow. Ideal did not seem as comfortable with all the other riders as he usually was and i was a little weary of doing his usual long rein warm up. But i started anyway, working him first at the trot and getting him to stretch down and then doing the same at the canter. Once he started to work the 4 year old started to settle into it and moved with long easy strides. I was smiling when i brought him back to the walk for a short break before i gathered him up.
ooc: crappy post... sorry i didn't have much to say
