------------------------------------------------------- to love someone whos in a rush to throw you away
Hayden was kind of nervous. This would be his first dance that he had not gotten kicked out of. He hoped. Hayden had not that much good experience at dances. Hayden always ended up dancing with someone girlfriend or somehow pissed off the wrong person. Which always ended up in a fight, which led to Hayden getting kicked out of the dance and the school. Alayna had made him promise he was going to do nothing tonight. She didnt want to loose him again and truthfully Hayden kind of liked this place. Berlington Academy treated him like a highly tempered abused horse. They were easing him back into being a civiliced young man. Hayden could actually see his future and he liked what he saw when he was here. He actually had a future. Thank god his sister never gave up on him or he wouldnt even be here now.
Hayden walked into the barn unable to get that dang dance out of his mind. That and Betsy. NO! Stop thinking about her shes pretty much your best friends girl. Hayden tried hard not to think of her but she was just so beautiful. He was wearing a pair of blue jeans, cowboy boots, and a black button up with four of the top buttons undone revealing his tight hairless chest. As soon as Haydens boots touched the barn Hayden was greeted by two horses. First his own, the friesian that Hayden loved so much, Satan, and then Pops his sisters horse. Hayden greeted Satan first giving the stallion a treat and a loving pat before moving to Pops. Alayna was sick so she asked him to ride Pops. What fun. Pops had it in for anyone who rode him other than Alayna and for some reason the young Thoroughbred hated Hayden. Hayden had to grab ahold of the halter fast before Pops struck out at him. Come on you royal pain Im not in the mood to fight.
Today looked to be a pretty nice day so Hayden decided to take Pops out into the outdoor arena. It took him twice as long as usual to tack up for Pops kept fighting him every step of the way. Today was a unnaturally humid day so by the time they managed to get outside both human and horse were covered in sweat. Hayden hated having to force Pops into submission but he did what had to be done to get the colt to mind. Hayden mouned in the arena and at first Pops acte perfectly immediately moving into a springy trot to warm up. Then out of nowhere he bucked hard sending Hayden sprawling into the sand. When he looked up he saw Pops prancing around like a horse that had just won a prize. You are so dead when I catch you. Hayden was getting both angry and frustated with the young horse. His sister had spoiled him way to much. ooc: done betsy reserved

She had decided after iming with Hayden that she would come out and ride. Jazz needed it because she had mainly rode Discovery since she had arrived. And the times she did rode him she pushed him more on the jumping portion, and today she felt more like doing dressage. And riding Discovery in dressage would just be a fight, so she would rather deal with Jazz, who would be much better. Somewhat, stallions are always stallions. Only, they both acted up in opposite things. Jazz in dressage was a wonderful horse, well behaved almost all the time and everything, but in jumping he was a freak, he got strong and ran and just had way to much fun. Cross country with him, that was just pure hold on for life. Discovery in dressage was him being a pain and always kicking and bucking. Him in jumping was a pretty well behaved horse, he did get a bit strong, but he was more calm and more responsive, and not mad. Cross Country with D was fun, he just had fun with it, but didn't try to run through your hands like Jazz did. Both stallions, both dorks, but she loved them both.
Running a hand through her hair she had changed into riding pants and her boots and chaps before throwing her hair up into a messy bun. Messy, but cute. She didn't want to wear her tall boots today, they were less comfortable. She did have on a white polo though, she tended ot ride in those a lot. The car accelerated down the drive as she headed towards the barn. Pulling into it she parked and got out, locking it and walking into the barn. A smile graced her lips when she whistled and Discovery stuck his head out. She walked up to him, giving him a carrot and rubbing his head, before walking to the other aisle to see Jazz's head over the door. He looked half asleep, it was funny. She walked up next to him and spoke his name quickly. He perked up and nickered softly. She laughed at him and gave him a treat before grabbing him. So far she hasn't seen Hayden here, but she would probably when she started riding. She tacked Jazz up quickly in her dressage saddle, a white saddle pad and white polos on all four legs. He looked spiffy.
Walking out after slipping on his bridle she left her helmet, she hadn't worn it lately, she hated it. Plus, she wasn't going to die doing dressage. She stopped a bit out of the door to fix the strap on her spur, it was bugging her being out. Flipping under another strap she walked towards the outdoor arena. At the moment she saw a guy, that she recognized to be Hayden, and he was on Pops. The next moment, he wasn't. She laughed to herself, walking with Jazz following. He started prancing as he neared, and she just glared at him, threatening him. He walked next to her, but was more strong and pushy. Reaching the arena she stopped, Pops trotting up to her. She laughed lightly still, grabbing her reins and holding her from running again. Turning to looked to where Hayden had landed and walked over to him, her stallion on the right, whom was more like on the verge of prancing, and Pops to the her left, who seemed rather calm, but not all at the same time. "I thought the point was to stay on the horse." Her voice teased as a light laugh passed through it, he didn't seem to badly hurt, if he was hurt at all. A teasing smile was on her features as she stood in front of him. The wind wrapping around her.

------------------------------------------------------- up your buttons babe
Hayden just sat there for a moment trying to calm himself down. If he went to try and catch Pops while he was angry Hayden wold grow VERY frustated and he didnt want to end up hurting the horse. After all Pops was his sisters horse not his. Hearing the galloping stop Hayden looked around and saw Betsy...oh god. A smile spread across his face as he shook his head getting to his feet. "I thought the point was to stay on the horse." Hayden couldnt help but laugh. Pops was acting perfect for Betsy, but for him Pops began to prance and toss his head. Well that is the general idea. But this horse hates me. Pops is the only horse that has ever bucked me off. But then Hayden thought of Satan. He hadnt tried riding Satan yet, and most likely the much larger fresian stud would buck Hayden off a few times before they came into a truce.
Alright well hes already warmed up. I was going to take him over some jumps and then take him on the trails. Well those were my orders anyway. You in? Hayden patted Pops neck hoping that the young stallion would behave himself. But then again that was not in his blood. Pops had some great Thoroughbreds in his blood, including War Admiral, Man 'O' War and Fair Play. All VERY hot tempered and hard to manage stallions. Hayden couldnt see how Alayna did it, but then again Pop adored Alayna. He didnt understand why he didnt take Pops onto the track and see how fast the sucker could run. But Alayna hadnt trained him as a racehorse so he would be pretty much murdered if he took Pops out onto the track. Alayna loved Pops though Hayden couldnt see why. Hayden despised the young horse more than anything. Pops just didnt like Hayden and the feeling was completely mutual.
Mounting Pops Hayden snatched up the reins and put a firm grip on Pops. For once the stallion obeyed. Pops seemed to sense that it was time to work and he allowed Hayden to work him. Hayden loped him around the ring a few times before moving to the first jump. These jumps had been set up by the advanced class earlier that day. Pops eyed them and checked his speed without even a hint of command from Hayden. Alayna had trained Pops well. Pops soard over the first jump though he was a little hesitant on the take off so his hoof barely grazed the top pole. Hayden loosened the reins a bit letting Pops know that he was still there and that seemed to heighten Pops confidence. Hayden was a very able rider and had ridden Pops quite a few times before. Pops knew he could trust Hayden. Pop soared over the rest of the jumps with inches to spare, Hayden leaning forward and dropping back at every jump moving in rythm with Pops. When they were finished Pops wa breathing a little heavily, so Hayden began walking him on their side of the ring waiting for Betsy to finish. ooc: done

Jazz tossed his head and stomped his foot, impatient of course, like normal. A hand reached beside her to push his head sideways a bit, just a little push. He snorted and stood somewhat still after a bit. Her light laughter came out as well when she had finished talking and he laughed, she was glad that he could see it as funny, and not get mad at her. A smile spread across her face as he replied, her laughter gone, but it was still hinted at in her smile. "He doesn't hate you, he just doesn't like you." The same smile returned as she stood there laughing lightly inwardly to herself. She had to admit that now standing face to face with him made her realize that he was cute. Really cute, and so far he was rather sweet and funny. She could probably list a few more. But she wouldn't, and let her attention focus back on him.
The smile was still on her face a a breeze whipped around, and was blowing the dirt around in the arena. Listening to him she glanced over to Jazz who was bobbing his head listening to the buckle jingle. He was like such a little kid sometimes, but she loved him anyways. She laughed and patted his neck, bringing him out of his playful trance. "Yep." She turned to where Jazz was and fixed his girth before un wrapping her stirrup and sliding her foot in, mounting. Fixing her stirrups and her girth she sat back in the saddle an let the reins lay on his neck, patting him with both hands. He snorted and started walking forward quickly. She grabbed the reins and picked him up into a free walk, warming him up. Her eyes turning to watch as Hayden and Pops worked rather well now.
Jazz started prancing and bobbing his head, so she decided just to push him into a trot. He responded nicely and gave his nice collected dressage trot. She worked with him on circles and serpentinesand straight lines, back and forth with different gaits in a way. Streching him out with extended and bring him back with working then collected. He only bucked once, but that was good for him. After a while, she glanced up, seeing the other pair jumping around. She let a smile pass before pushing Jazz into a canter. It was a working canter and then she turned it into a slow and collected canter. She worked with him on that as he pushed forward and went into an extended canter upon her aids. She brought him back down to a really collected canter, and did a few flying changes before attempt a pirroutte. He was still in the process of learning it, but he was getting there. He did it about half way then went forward. She praised him and brought him back down to a trot, then into a piaffe, but he did that without her asking. She was trying to get him to walk, but he was having to much fun. Though finally she got him to walk and she glanced up to see Hayden and Pops done. Smiling she walked Jazz over towards them.
